This was written by Matsuo Bashou, the legendary Japanese poet:
furu ike ya / kawazu tobikomu / mizu no oto
direct translation:
old pond / frog dives / water's sound
This poem is especially fitting right now because we are having light showers and I am hearing a chorus of frog trills, ribbets, and croaks at all hours of the day. I've never felt an affection for frogs, but these nature calls are music to my ears.

bianca jagger - homeless

Today, I read this in the International Herald Tribune:
"Bianca Jagger, the former wife of the Rolling Stones lead singer, says she's "homeless" because of mold that has infested her Park Avenue apartment in Manhattan. Jagger, 59, who appeared at a hearing in NY Supreme Court, said she had ben living out of suitcases at friends' homes for almost 3 years because her four room apartment is uninhabitable. She is suing her landlord and contractors who worked on the apartment for $20 million because of water leaks and the mold that she claims is toxic and has caused her pulmonary and neurological problems and severe headaches."
Poor, poor, pitiful she.
