yell'en

A year and a half ago, I wrote this story for some students of mine. It was about 6 months after I had come to Japan, and I would like to share it with you:

One day, a Yell�en woke up and learned that his life had changed. All of his yellow family, all of his yellow friends, and all of his favorite yellow things were gone!

Everything was a strange�

BLUE!

The Yell�en set out to discover what had happened.

He asked everyone that he saw.
�Where is my family?�
�Where are my friends?�
�Where am I?�
�Why is everything blue?�

Nobody could tell him.
Maybe they knew, but they could not share.

Everyday the Yell�en asked and searched, and searched and asked.

He felt hopeless.

But then he saw something�

It was a new color! There was a hint of green on all the Blu�ens that he had tried to talk with.

That�s when he saw it�

A spot of green had begun to grow on the Yell�en!

The Yell�en knew what to do! He walked forward�

He shook the hand of a Blu�en!

Little by little, their hands became green and they both understood a little of what the other was trying to say.

Years later, the Yell�en and his friends named themselves Gre�ens.
